Why You Need an E-Session

If you are engaged, you are probably wondering, should I have an engagement session? My answer? YES! Here are 3 reasons why you need an engagement session.
Engagement Session

Build Trust With Your Photographer

Of all the people you will invite into being a part of your wedding, your photographer will be the one spending the most time with you. When you are getting ready or finding an intimate moment to be with just your new husband/wife, he will be there. Because of this, you don't want just anyone to be there capturing the events of your day. If you don't have confidence in your photographer, you will not be at ease, and that WILL reflect in your photos.
By taking time to shoot an engagement session with your photographer, you can learn how he shoots while focusing on learning about each other rather than getting "perfect shots." (A great photographer will do more than take photos for you, he will make sure you feel like the most important person in the world, even after the wedding!)

Engagement Sessions are Great for Announcements

One of the best things about an engagement session is the ability to utilize your new images for your announcements and wedding invitations! There is no better way to get your friends and family excited about your wedding than sending an announcement and at the front of that card is an image with your fiance. Aside from the normal congratulations you can expect, this will also excite friends to buy gifts for you, host parties, and even give you some awesome compliments about how great you look in these photos. Engagement Sessions are Good for You to Have

Taking the time to have an engagement session with your fiance is great for your relationship. It says you are willing to go out of your comfort zone (if taking pictures makes you uncomfortable) to spend time with each other. You may not immediately realize it, but you will appreciate each other more for it. Your photographer may be able to bring out things in you that neither one of you realized about each other, helping see each other in a new light, and when you see the images that result from it, you may realize you actually do have that "fairy-tale love" many are seeking.

Because engagement sessions are something I truly believe it, I make it a point to shoot one with all of my couples. I always include at least a 1 hour session with my couples, regardless of the collection they choose. I want my couples to trust me, I want them to have great announcements, and at the end of the day, I want them to have these images for themselves.
